The Top 5: Best Lego Video Games Ever

Thanks to the release of Lego City Undercover, I thought I would do this week’s Top 5 on the Best Lego Video Games Ever.  Now, this is my opinion, so don’t be surprised if there aren’t any Star Wars Lego Games included, especially since I’ve never played any of them! 5.  Lego Lord of The Rings

Lord of the Rings is the latest release from Traveller’s Tales Games for all consoles, and it was pretty darn good.  The actual storytelling was done very well, the map was very large, and the characters were deep and varied.  The only downfall was the fact that I haven’t ever seen LoTR, and I got lost at times.

4.  Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4

Just like EVERY Lego game ever released, I had never seen any Harry Potter movies before playing this game, so it was a bit difficult to play the game at first, but once I got the hang of it, LHP1-4 was the first Lego game that the combat was fun.  Armed with a bunch of magic spells, casting them on enemies was way cool.  The worst part of the game was trying to navigate the free roam school, but in LHP5-7, it got easier.

3.  Lego Pirates of the Caribbean

Lego Pirates

For my money, there isn’t anything funnier in the Lego universe than watching Captain Jack Sparrow stumbling through Lego Pirates.  Madison and I had a blast playing through this one, but unfortunately we got attacked by the world famous TT Games glitches, and lost our game save.  I can’t wait to return, start over, and go for the completion.

2.  Lego  Batman 2: DC Superheroes

Roaming around Gotham City, you are all the baddest motherfuckers in the universe.  From Superman to Wonder Woman (Dem Tittays), you battle all the bad guys that are trying to overrun the city.  It was definitely a fun game, and probably the first in the series I looked forward to replaying each level.

1.  Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7

For me, HP5-7 was the most enjoyable Lego game ever.  The combat was, by far, the best, and the addition of the duels were pretty sick.  The fact that it was the second game of the series helps, especially since they left in all the good parts of the first game, and added more cool stuff on that.  Also, the free roam map was pretty much the same as from the first game, so it was a lot easier to navigate.
