Welcome to the Strange: 8 Places to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse

Oh the zombie apocalypse, we want one but deep down inside we know it will never happen. But just in case it does, here is 8 places you can set up a nice base to live out the Zpocolypse.

 8. Utter Inn

utter-inn

The Utter Inn, a tiny dwelling in Sweden, doesn’t look like much from the surface. Seriously very tiny, it has a hidden room under the water. Room for two and not much else, probably should store supplies near by.

7. Neuschwanstein Castle

Castles, in general, are a good place to hide during a zombie apocalypse. After all, many castles were constructed with defense as their first priority, meaning they’re already fortified. Not many castles in the world feature better natural fortifications than Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria, Germany. The castle sits on top of a hill surrounded by woods and is only accessible by drawbridge.

6. Lawson Tower

Located in Scituate, Massachusetts is Lawson Tower. Not very flashy, but still a good place to live out the zombie apocolypse in. It’s basically a single castle turret standing 153 feet tall, and was designed to mask a water tower which still exists at its center. The water tower is no longer operational, but damn catch some rain and you have a nice place to store it.

5. Maunsell Army Sea Forts

You know what would be awesome? If you could combine the safety of an island, a fort, and a tower. And hey, that’s basically what the Maunsell Army Sea Forts are. Located in the United Kingdom, built during WW2 and accessible only by boat this place is awesome for a anti zombie fort. Unless zombies can swim or drive boats you should be good.

4. Raven Rock/Site R

One of the most secret military installations in the United States is the Raven Rock Mountain Complex, also known as Site R. Located in Pennsylvania, not far from Camp David, Site R is basically one of those underground bases where members of the United States government would flee to in the event of disaster. Hey you may not be the president but this place still kicks a lot of ass in the Zpocolypse.

3. Alcatraz Island

Everyone knows Alcatraz Island. The infamous prison island off the coast of San Francisco was one of the most feared prisons in the world when it was open, and has become an incredibly popular tourist destination. In case of zombies it’s an excellent place to go! Surrounded by water, cold dangerous shark filled water, no zombie is gonna get you.

2. The Greenbrier Resort

Along the same lines of Raven Rock is Greenbrier, another military installation and government relocation center in West Virginia which has since been turned into a luxury resort. I’ve seen this place on a TV show and it is pretty cool. Hopefully no government types make it there so you can have it to yourself.

1. Mont Saint-Michel

Located in Normandy, France, Mont Saint-Michel may be the most perfect place in the world to hold out against a zombie apocalypse that there is. Not only is it literally a castle stronghold, but it’s also an island that sits about half a mile off the coast of France, and is only accessible to zombies, anyway by a single road that could easily be fortified or blocked off altogether. Plant some landmines on that road and enjoy the zombie and raiders body parts flying everywhere, good times indeed!

So which one of these 8 places would you choose to hold up in during the Zpocolypse? I would have to choose #5 the Maunsell Army Sea Forts, they just look uber cool to me and I like eating seafood.
